The Best from Around the World

Syndicated programming for an alternate take on today’s best classical.

Public radio is all about offering alternative listening options. We do our best to use local feedback to create great playlists from our local CD library. We’re flattered to say that most listeners recognize this hard work and prefer the hours that Katelyn and Michael host. However, many listeners fell in love with the more “cosmopolitan” selections and style of Peter van de Graaff when we first experimented with his overnight programming from WFMT in Chicago. Attempting to bring you the best of both worlds, we offer Peter’s work now during the day at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. – when our best-educated classical fans are most likely to listen.

The syndicated service offering this material is called the Beethoven Satellite Network. These hours are offered to us 9 hours before we use them. That is to say, our 11 a.m. hour is their 2 a.m. hour and our 1 p.m. hour is their 4 a.m. Their playlists are posted here. This is not a database format that flows into our local playlist tables, but their information is fully accessible to you with a simple click – and that bit of math regarding the hour! As always, call Katelyn at 1-800-723-4657 if you have important classical questions!
