I am a life-long classical musician and Radio Kansas listener. Belonging to a family of musicians and public radio enthusiasts in Sterling, KS meant that KHCC was constantly playing. I like to think that such exposure helped propel me into a career as a classical musician.

I received my undergraduate degree in music from Wichita State University, my masters in voice at the UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance, and my post graduate degree in opera from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. It’s a running joke in my family that for as long as I was in college, I could have been a neurosurgeon or a lawyer. I say it’s a wonderful thing to know with such certainly what you need to call your life’s work.

In addition to performing around the United States as a classical vocalist, I have also been a professor of music at the college level and worn just about every hat that fits my particular interests and talents. Stage director, special events coordinator, church musician, accompanist, community theater producer, severely amateur mountain dulcimer group instructor, flautist, choir director, actress, and now public radio announcer.

I moved back to Kansas with my three children several years ago and it’s wonderful to be here where my roots run deep. I am an avid supporter of and believer in cultivating the arts in our beautiful state and enjoy sharing my passion with you every day.
